What I have been saying for years is that Microsoft needs to change their certification requirements and processes (and whatever other issues that exist) for PC games and make it more agile and adaptable to the platform so that games are not constantly released onto the MS Store/Gamepass storefront that are inferior to what is released on all other PC storefronts. The entire ROCKFISH Games team has been back at work since January 3rd, and Erik, our beloved Community Ambassador and Ace pilot, has already revealed a few. That responder has also made some vague statements about how there are other issues as well, but they can't talk about them because of NDAs. However, many games don't have any of these particular dependencies but are still released on the platform missing functionality and/or having bugs because they are required to go through an arbitrary certification process by Microsoft which results in an older build being released onto the platform. Granted, there are some cases where this is definitely required such as games that share cross-platform multiplayer functionality. They are putting PC releases and patches through a similar process that console games go through before they approve them to be released on the MS Store/Gamepass. Music sometimes goes away and comes back for a fraction of a second. Which is exactly what my issue is with Microsoft's certification process. This obviously does not happen with the majority of PC-only developers, as they can just release a patch at any time they want to and have it deployed immediately on all storefronts (except for the MS Store/Gamepass) They explained that a release manager will often withhold all patches from being released until all relevant platforms' certification departments have approved said patches. They explained how there is a "release manager" employed by a developer (or publisher) whose job it is to deal with providing the release build and subsequent patches to all of the relevant storefronts and console manufacturers (Steam, Epic, Xbox, Sony, Nintendo, etc). Their explanations of how the cert process works have pretty much lines up exactly with what my problems are with the current MS cert process for PC games:

That particular responder has been explaining their own personal experiences with MS cert from shipping several games. One of them has been actively responding to all of my threads about the issue for several years.

Yes, I'm aware of the "two actual developers" explaining their experiences with MS cert.
